7- Stage Filtration System
The filtration system within the hypo-allergenic upright vacuum cleaners consists of 7 layers, 3 layer inner bag and 4 layer outer bag, which trap over 99.99% of microscopic particles down to 0.3 micron.
Celoc™
Refers to the Oreck 7-Stage filtration on the Hypo-allergenic upright vacuum cleaners.
Corner Brush
Located in the base of the upright vacuum cleaner on both sides, they help to shift dirt away from skirting boards into the path of the vacuum.
Docking System
Newer model Oreck XLs now have a Bag Docking System to make changing the bag even easier. Also helps lock the bag in place, and with the help of the Saniseal™ system prevents dust escaping. Simply slide the bag into the bag dock door, and then push and snap into place. The model number of your machine, can be found on a sticker on the base.
Easy carry handle
Located on the back of the XL7 Upright model, it makes carrying your upright so much easier.
Helping Hand™ Handle
Ergonomically designed to reduce the force needed to operate the vacuum. It effectively eliminates bending and twisting of the wrist or squeezing of the hand. A real advantage for people with painful joints and arthritis.
HEPA
High Efficiency Particulate Air filtration. The criteria for HEPA is 99% filtration efficiency at the most penetrating particle size (about 0.3 microns at very low face velocities). The HEPA filtration removes particles in the air by forcing it through screens containing microscopic pores. It is a highly effective filtration device that prevents small particles that are being vacuumed up from being released back into the environment. Our XL7 upright vacuum cleaner reaches the required standard of filtration for HEPA without the use of HEPA filters, and will lock inside 99.999% of microscopic particles down to 0.3 micron.
Hypo+
This refers to the HEPA standard of our hypo-allergenic upright models, which reaches the required standard of filtration for HEPA without the use of HEPA filters, and will lock inside 99.999% of microscopic particles down to 0.3 micron.
Hypo-allergenic
Definition: non-allergy producing. A term applied to a preparation in which every possible care has been taken in formulation and production to ensure minimum instance of allergic reactions. Our hypo-allergenic upright vacuum cleaners filter up to 99.99% of particles as small as 0.3 micron, therefore trapping virtually all irritating particles.
Micro Filter
Located in the back of the Portable MultiVac, it helps to prevent dust particles escaping back into the environment. Also helps prevent dirt entering the motor chamber. The filter is located behind the inner bag.
Microns
Pollen grains vary between 20-100 microns and dust mites between 10-20 microns and considering smoke particles vary between 0.001-4 microns, your hypo-allergenic Oreck XL upright vacuum will even help eliminate odours.
Microsweep™
The Microsweep™ blade, located in the base of the upright vacuum cleaner, prevents any small grains escaping under the machine when used on hard floorings.
Motor Filter
Located in the rear of base of the XL7 upright vacuum cleaner, it helps to prevent dust articles escaping back into the environment.
Non-Docking System
For older Oreck XL models, without a Bag Docking System, the bag is pushed or snapped into place. The model number of your machine, can be found on a sticker on the base.
Pet Hair Seal
Our upright vacuum cleaners have recently been rated ‘excellent’ at pet hair removal by an independent laboratory. They gave our uprights 5/5 for pet hair removal.
Posi-Lock door
Easy-access bag door, found on Portable MultiVac's, to assure a tight, dust-free seal.
Roller brush
Located in the base of the upright vacuum cleaner, this features thousands of dense, pile-lifting bristles arranged in a double helix pattern. It revolves at over 5,500 revolutions per minute to groom carpet fibres and loosen deeply-embedded dirt. This combing action not only extends the life of your carpet, but recent laboratory tests proved it is also excellent at removing pet hairs.
Rotorblade™
flexible self-cleaning blades, found on a Wet/Dry (3200 or 2600) Hoky/Restauranteur Floor Sweeper, which beat the floor with high frequency, creating cleaning power in either direction. Enables Hokys to pick up wet or dry debris.
Saniseal™
To prevent leakages, we have developed the Saniseal™ system that closes the disposable bag opening on removal, unlike some bagless cleaners where excessive amounts of dust can escape into the room.
